Leo Rabe, aged 34, died of pneumonia at this home near Blairstown today

Mr. Rabe was married and leaves a wife and three children. He is also survived by this mother, Mrs. Louise Rabe of Belle Plaine and five brothers and sister.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:30 from the Driscoll chapel in Belle Plaine. Burial will be made in Oak Hill cemetery, Belle Plaine.

Obituary for Wayne Rabe

BLAIRSTOWN – Wayne Leo Rabe, 90, of Blairstown, went to his heavenly home on July 27, 2007, following a long illness with heart disease at the Keystone Care Center. Visitation will be at Grace Lutheran Church in Blairstown on Sunday, July 29, 2007, where friends may call from 3 to 6 PM. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Monday, July 30, also at Grace Lutheran Church. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Blairstown. Wayne was born September 6, 1916, to Leo Earnest and Ruth Elmeda (Fisher) Rabe in Irving, Iowa. On June 16, 1946, he married Helen L. Bruch in Vinton. They lived all of their married life on a farm southwest of Blairstown. Wayne farmed most of his life and did custom bulldozing for more than 30 years, building many of the local ponds. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Blairstown. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Helen Rabe; Jim (Connie) Rabe of Center Point, and their children Stacie (Trevor Feagin) Rabe, Matt and Mike Rabe, all of Sandy, UT; Joe Rabe of Blairstown; Jerry (Diane) Rabe of Blairstown and their children Ben (Sarah) and Noah Rabe (great-grandchild) of Cedar Rapids; Mark Rabe of Ames; Daniel Rabe of Blairstown; and Nancy (Scott) Zimmerman of Greeley, CO, and their children Eric Zimmerman of Lincoln, NE; and Ryan Zimmerman of Greeley, CO. He is also survived by 2 brothers, Lewis Rabe of Blairstown and Roy Wandling of Waukon; 2 sisters, Velma Pease and Irene Raub, and 1 brother-in-law, Bud Selk. He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 sister, Rachel Selk; 2 brothers-in-law, Delmar Pease and Richard Raub; and 1 sister-in-law, Helen O. Rabe.
