Died-August 10, 1897, at his home in south Jackson, Joseph Pingenot, aged 70 years, 3 months, and 6 days. he was born in the southern part of France, May 4, 1827, and was married to Madeline Recroix in 1864. Funeral at his late home August 12, 1897, conducted by Rev. Wm Long and was buried in the Garrison Cemetery

Louis (Dewey) Pingenot
GARRISON-Louis (Dewey) Pingenot, 86, died Sunday, October 29, 1989, at the Virginia Gay Hospital Annex following an attended illness.
Mr Pingenot was born in rural Garrison February 21, 1903, to Joseph F. and Jennie Schaffer Pingenot. He lived and farmed in the Garrison area all his life. He served his country in the Army in World War II. He was a member of Geroge G. Hardinger Post #475, Garrison American Legion.
He is survived by one brother, Joe Pingenot of Vinton and one sister, Mrs. C. R. (Ehtel) Horning also of Vinton.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, four brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held at ...the Phillips Funeral home in Vinton with Rev. Gene A. Burry officiating. Interment will be held at the Garrison Cemetery with graveside rites by the George G. Hardinger #475 Garrison American Legion.

DEATH CLAIMS L. F. PINGENOT
Louis F. Pingenot
Lou F. Pingenot, 44 years old, a native of Benton County, who has been trucking in Vinton several years, died this morning at 10:00 o'clock at the city hospital following an emergency operation for rupture a week ago last Friday. His condition has been critical the last week. Funeral arrangements have not been made.
Possessed of unusual strength, Pingenot was injured when he attempted to lift an heavy momument. He farmed near Vinton a number of years, later locating at Alburnett for eight years and living at Marion and Hazelton each a year. Since returning from Marion, Pingenot had operated a motor truck.
Louis Pingenot was born in July 1886, on a farm near Garrison. Following the death of his first wife, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Urmy of Vinton, he was married to Miss Ruth Irwin of Garrison. Surving are the widow, three children by his former marriage, Mrs. Florenc Ermels of Marchester and Wilbert and Harold Pinegnot and 4 small children by the second marriage. A son died eight years ago.
