Aloysius “Al” Oberreuter, 89, died Friday, March 6, 1998, in Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, after an extended illness. Services: 10 am Monday, St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Watkins, by Rev. Walter Kleinfehn. Burial: St. Patrick’s and St. Paul’s’ Catholic Cemetery, near Watkins. Friends may call from 2 to 8 pm today at St. Patrick’s Church, Watkins, where rosaries will be recited at 4 and 5:30 pm and a Scripture service begins at 7 pm. Brosh’s of Norway and David Hrabak of Belle Plaine are in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Agnes; two sons, Richard and Gary, both of Watkins; one daughter, Mary of Marion; and one brother Clement of Amana. Also surviving are a daughter-in-law, Violet, a son-in-law, Michael Mastin; and eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Allen; four brothers, William, Mark, Joseph and Francis; and a sister, Mary Boddicker. Al was born August 23, 1908, to William and Louise Schulte Oberreuter, near Danbury. He was a member of Knight of Columbus.

A Mass of Resurrection for Clement Carl Oberreuter, 87, Amana and formerly of Blairstown, will be held Wednesday, March 1, 2000 at St. John's Catholic Church Blairstown, with Rev. Lois Zee officiating. Interment will be in St. Patrick's and St. Paul's Catholic Cemetery, Watkins. Oberreuter passed away Saturday, February 26, 2000, at Colonial Manor, Amana, from an extended illness.
Casket bearers are John Oberreuter, Dan Oberreuter, Cathy Vincent, Brad Havran, Ann Havran, Matt Walshire, Julie Walshire, Kevin Oberreuter, Cindy Plitt, Dean Havran, Paul Havran, Mark Havran and Tom Walshire.
Music was provided by organist, Mrs. Tracy Franzenburg.
Clement Carl Oberreuter was born February 15, 1913, at Norway, the son of William and Louise Schulte Oberreuter. Clem, as known to family and friends, received his educaation from Norway rural schools. On January 15, 1936, he was united in marriage to Lorene Helen Volz at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Norway. They made their home farming together their entire married life near Blairstown and the Watkins areas. They later retired to make their home in Blairstown. He was a member of St. John's Cattholic Church, Blairstown, and the Catholic Order of Foresters, Norway.
He is survived by his wife, Lorene; a son, Robert Oberreuter and wife, Bernardine, Camp Verde, AZ; two daughter, Carol Ann Havran and husband, Dennis, Des Moines, and Nancy Walshire and husband, Keith, Mechanicsville; 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and five brothers, Al, Joseph, Francis, Mark and William Oberreuter; and a sister, Mary Boddicker.

Services: 10 am Wednesday, St. Patrick Catholic Church, Watkins, by the Rev. Walter Kleinfehn. Burial: St. Patrick and Paul Cemetery. Survivors include a son, James of Watkins; three daughters, Connie Burkart of Iowa City, Karen Callahan of Cascade and Linda Schuttler of Manson; and a sister Berneice Lyness of Manchester. Also surviving are three sons-in-law, Leonard Burkart, Stanley Callahan and Orlin Schuttler; and eight grandchildren; Lindsey and Emily Burkart; Kristine, Katie, Amanda and Megan Callahan; and Lance and Landon Schuttler
She was born June 11, 1925, daughter of Harry and Sara Callan, in Coggon. She married William Oberreuter, Jr. on June 11, 1946, in Monti, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1966; her parents; two sisters, Kathryn and Lucille; and two brothers, Vincent and Richard Callan.

Tom Zinkula officiating. Burial was in St. Patrick's and St. Paul's Cemetery, Watkins. Mrs. Oberreuter died September 11, 2002, at Colonial Manor Nursing Home, Amana, following an extended illness.
Lorene Helen Oberreuter was born on June 1, 1916, at Norway, the daughter of Frank A. and Kathryn Sevening Volz. On January 15, 1936, she married Clement Carl Oberreuter at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Norway. They made their home farming together near the Blairstown and Watkins area all their married life. They later retired to live in Blairstown. She taught catechism for many years at St. John's Catholic Church, Blairstown. Her husband preceded her in death on Feb. 26, 2000. She is survived by a son, Robert Oberreuter and wife, Bernadine, Camp Verde, Arizona; two daughters, Carol Ann Havran and husband, Dennis, Des Moines, and Nancy Walshire and husband, Keith, Mechanicsville, 12 grandchildren and eleven great-grand- children; one brother, Vernon Volz and wife, Lynn, Carter Lake; and three sisters, Hazel Stallman and husband, Leonard, Fairfax, Loretta Schmidt, Norway, and Mary Zinkula and husband Robert, Mt. Vernon.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one granson, Tom Walshire; and three brothers, Clarence, Wilbert and David Volz.

William Oberreuter
Watkins - William Oberreuter, 41, Watkins, was found dead on his farm near here on Monday, March 7. He was the son of Mrs. William Oberreuter, Sr., and the later Mr. Oberreuter. He was born March 17, 1924, near Watkins and was married to Evelyn Callan at Monti on June 11, 1946.
He is survived by his wife; one son and three daughters, James, Connie, Karen and Linda, his mother; and five brothers, Al, Watkins; Joe, Danbury; Clem, Marengo, Mark, Watkins; and Francis, Ryan; and one sister, Mrs. Glenn Boddicker, Watkins.
Funeral services were held today at 10 a.m. from St. Patricks Catholic church in Watkins with burial in St. Patrick's cemetery at Watkins. the Rev. D.T. Noonan officiated.
