The Death Summons Came Suddenly

Edwin Murray Found Dead in Bed Yesterday Morning at Home of Daughter, Mrs. H Hanover.
While apparently in the best of health, Edwin Murray, the father of Mrs. Harry Hannover of this city died suddenly, Monday night from an attack of heart trouble. His lifeless body was found lying in bed at 7:00 o'clock yesterday morning. The hours previous to that time, Mr. Murray had been feeling unusally well this winter. He was subject to heart trouble but had not suffered from an attack for some time. His sudden death cause as a severe shock to his daughter and family.
The remains were taken to Shellsburg this morning the former home of the family and the funeral was held at 1:20 o'clock this afternoon from the Baptist church. Rev. Bryden conducted the services. The interment was in the Shellsburg cemetery beside wife who passed away four years ago.
Came to Iowa from Ohio.
Mr. Murray was 72 years old. He was born March 2, 1842 at Columbus Ohio. He was a veteran of the Civil war serving in an Ohio regiment. About 22 years ago the family came to Iowa arriving in Linn county. From there they moved to Urbana and a year later went back to Ohio. Eighteen years ago Mr. Murray came to Center Point living there a year and then to Shellsburg and made that city his home until the death of Mrs. Murray, then which time he had lived with Mrs. Hanover.
There are four children left to mourn the departure of a kind and indulgent father. They are William Murray living at Palo., Mrs. Tom Nelson and Mrs. Hanover of Vinton and Abijah Murray of Shellsburg.
Mr.Murray had been a faithful member of the Baptist church a member of years.
