Etta Marlow
Blairstown.

Miss Etta Marlow, who for several years has been ill with consumption, died Wednesday, July 17, at the age of 24 years, 10 months and 24 days. The funeral services were held at the M. E. church conducted by Rev. C. E. Luce. Interment was made in Pleasant Hill cemetery.

J. Lewis Marlow Called To His Reward
Jeremiah Lewis Marlow
J. Lewis Marlow was born in Williams County, Ohio, September 30, 1856 and passed away at the home of his niece at Ohiowa, Nebraska, on January 27, 1923 at the age of 66 years, 3 months and 27 days.
He was the oldest son of Wm. and Eleanor Marlow. He was one of four children, all of whom preceded him in death. On September 7, 1882 he was united in marriage to Alice Hixon. There being no children they adopted a daughter, Etta. Both wife and daughter preceded him in death. The former on May 8, 1903 and the latter on July 17, 1907. He is survived by nieces and one nephew.
Deceased came to Blairstown at the age of 19 years where he continued to reside until his health failed, making it impossible for him to be alone and in the early summer months he went to the home of his niece in Ohiowa, Nebraska.
For many years he followed farming and owned and resided on the farm now owned by Milo Heck. Fifteen years ago he went into business herw which he gave up after his health failed.
He had a gentle, kindly nature and was especially attracted to the young of the community. He was adored by the little ones.
The remains were brought to his place on Wednesday. The funeral services were held in the Evangelical Church, Rev. O. M. Yaggy, pastor of the church officiating. Burial was made in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery by the side of his loved ones.
The Woodman Olive Camp were in charge of the services.
The pall bearers were: John Burch, Curt McClure, Jesse Mettler, A. E. Hills, B. F. Heck and Frank Kouba.
Those from a distance who came to attend the funeral were Mrs. Vesta Collier and Reba Moore of Ohiowa, Nebraska, Miss Leila Marlow of Oskosh, Nebraska. While here they are guests in the Haughenbury-Dye home.
