Obituary
Gertrude Maag

Obituary Mrs. David Maag died at a hospital in Cedar Rapids at 7:40 p.m., April 6, 1936, after a short illness. As Gertrude Schmidt she was born near Watkins, May 16, 1877, and lived in that vicinity all her life. She was married May 28, 1902, to David Maag, who survives with one son, Forrest. Also surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Charles Nolte of Watkins, Mrs. James Bushman of Watkins, Mrs. Henry Schuemecker of Blairstown and Mrs. Geo. A Stark of Cedar Rapids; and five brothers, Charles, John, Joseph, William and Theodore Schmidt, all of Watkins.

She was a member of the Women's Catholic Order of Foresters and of the Catholic Cemetery association and was its treasurer for six years.

Mrs. Maag's body was brought Tuesday afternoon from a mortuary to the home here. Funeral services with requiem high mass were held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday from St. Michael's church. Burial was from the home, Thursday. Rev. Wm. Kunzel officiated assisted by Rev. Meyer of Tama.

We wish to extend our most heartfelt thanks and appreciation to our many neighbors, friends, members of the C.O.F., W.C.O.F. and to all who extended a helping hand during the illness, death and burial of our beloved wife and mother. We are also thankful to the good ladies who prepared and took care of the home, and for the many provisions, cars, spiritual bouquets and floral offerings. Dave and Forrest Maag
