Wakins: Funeral services for Eleanor Kahle, 88, were held Monday, Dec. 22, at St. Michael's Catholich church, Norway. Burial was in the church cemetery, Norway.
Mrs. Kahle died Thursday, Dec. 18, 1986 at Heritage Acres Care Center, Cedar Rapids, where she had been a resident for 4-1/2 years.
She was born March 4, 1898 at rural Norway, the daughter of Charles and Mary Boddicker Schulte. She married Herman Kahle on Jan. 18, 1921, in Norway. He died Jan. 2, 1936. They had farmed in the Watkins area.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and 11 brothers and sisters.
She is survived by three sons, Sylvester and his wife Irene, Raphael (Joe) and his wife Carleen, all of Watkins; Francis (Butch) and his wife, Bonnie, Norway; two daughters, Mrs. William (Thelma) Serbousek, Fairfax; Mrs. Robert (Letha) Monroe of Wheaton, Ill.; 22 grandchildren and 23 great- grandchildren.
Russell Funeral home, Blairstown, was in charge of arrangements.
