DEATH TAKES W. V. JEWEL AT CEDAR RAPIDS

William V. Jewel
W. V. Jewel, 72, former Benton county farmer and Vinton resident died this morning at St. Luke's hospital in Cedar Rapids of paralysis.
Mr. Jewel suffered a stroke of paralysis two weeks ago at the home of his son, Fred Jewel, where he had been living since last fall. He failed steadily until his death.
Deceased is survived by his son, two sisters, Mrs. Perry Campbell of Vinton and Mrs. Hattie Burkhart, living seven and a half miles northeast of Vinton, and a brother Barney, living in Minnesota.
Mr. Jewel was a native of Benton county, residing in this vicinity all his life before going to Cedar Rapids about six months ago. For many years he farmed his place seven miles north of Vinton.
Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at ten o'clock at the Turner chapel in Cedar Rapids. Burial will be in Kisling cemetery north of Vinton.
