Good Woman Called Home
Mary Jackman

John Shinn recently received word of the death of his twin sister, Mrs. Mary Jackman of Lyndon, Washington. Her death occurred at the hospital in Belingham, Washington, where she had gone for an operation for cancer of the bowels. The operation was not performed as her condition was such that she could not have survived. Mrs. Jackman was a former much respected resident of this place and will be well remembered as Miss Mary Shinn. She with her mother occupied the old Shinn home now owned and occupied by Mr. and Mrs. John Shinn. She was a good woman and a splendid neighbor. While here she attended the Methodist church. After going to Lynden she affiliated with the church there and was a consistent member and received great comfort from the church in her illness.

Mary Shinn was born in Mahoning County, Ohio, September 5, 1862 and passed away December 29th at the age of 60 years, 3 months and 23 days. She came here with her parents when she was two years old and left here about twenty years ago. After residing in Washington a few years she moved to Lynden, where she met and married Theodore Jackman, who is left with their foster daughter Ruth and two brothers John of this place and Frank of Washington to mourn their loss.

Interment was made at Lynden, where she had resided for the past 17 years.
