Obituary
John M. Inman

John M. Inman was born in Delaware County, New York, March 8, 1817, and died at his home near Estherville, Iowa, October 11, 1902, having lived to the ripe old age of 85 years, 7 months, and 3 days. In 1838 he was married to Malvina A. Lawrence and in 1841 moved to Illinois which was then a new and unsettled country,. In 1848 his wife died after a lingering illness. To them were born two sons, Charles E. and Henry L.

In 1851 he again married to Susan E. Hibbard and moved to Iowa, setting in Eden Township, Benton County. Two them were born two sons George W. and John T. He was a member and founder of the M.E. church at First Eden, Benton County, Iowa. He lived a true Christian life, was a kind and devoted father and was ever ready to lend a helping hand to those in need.

He leaves three sons, fifteen grandchildren and one great grandchild to mourn their lost. The funeral was held at First Eden church Tuesday at 3 p.m., conducted by Rev. Frank L. Loveland, Interment at the Eden cemetery.
