Young Mother Is Summoned
Emma Halsey

Mrs. Emma Halsey Succumbs To After Effects Of Flu After Lingering Illness.

The news of the death of Mrs Emma Halsey, which occurred at St. Luke's hospital, Cedar Rapids, at 7 a. m. Tuesday, September 2, 1910, was received with much sorrow by the people of Blairstown.

Mrs. Halsey was striken with the influenza last fall and never seemed to recover from the after effects. About three months ago she underwent an operation for the removal of her tonsils Her condition following the operation steadily grew worse until the end.

Mrs. Halsey was the daughter of Postmaster William Hoebel and besides the father, leaves a sorrowing husband and two little children at the family home in Eagle Grove. Funeral services were held at Blairstown, Thursday, September 4th, with interment in the Blairstown cemetery.

Mrs. Halsey was a beautiful character. Fidelity to her husband and devotion to her children marked her life and time alone can soften the great grief which her passing brings to those near and dear to her.
