Adam Haefner of Vinton dies

TIMESNEWS - Adam Haefner, 69, died last night at the Hotel-Motel where he resided. He was born Nov. 14, 1902 at Mendota, Ill, a son of George Adam and Anna Haefner. He is survived by a brother George Haefner Sr., and was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters. He never married. Funeral arrangements are pending at Campbell Funeral Home.

Graveside rites Saturday for Adam Haefner

TIMESNEWS - Graveside services will be held at 9a.m. Saturday at Evergreen Cemetery for Adam Haefner, 69, who died Thrusday at the Vinton Hotel following a brief illness. The Rev. Donald Drury will officiate.
He was born Nov. 14, 1902 at Mendota, Ill., a son of Adam and Anna Rose Haefner. He was a veteran of World War II.
He is survived by one brother, George H. of Vinton. Three brothers and four sisters preceded him in death.

George H. Haefner
Vinton - George H. Haefner Sr., age 86, died at the Lutheran Home on Tuesday November 5, 1985.
He was born on October 4, 1899 in Mendotta, Illinois and was the son of Adam G. and Anna Rose Haefner. On June 9, 1926 he married Bessie E. Trimble in Vinton.
George was a retired Emplyee with Iowa Electric in Vinton.
He is survived by His wife, Bessie, of Vinton; four sons, Harvey, Richard, George Jr. and Donald all of Vinton; one daughter, Mrs. James (JoAnn) Roster of Vinton; 19 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, four borthers, four sisters, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30p.m., Thursday, November 7, 1985 at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Nash officiating. Internment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Phillips Funeral Home after 2p.m. Wednesday.

Rites Saturday for Mrs Mina E. Haefner

TIMESNEWS - Mrs Mina E. Haefner, 74, died Thursday morning at her home in Vinton after suffering an apparent heart attack.
She was born May 30, 1898 in Green County Ark., a daughter of Robert and Clark Austin Pruett. She married in 1919 to WIlliam F. Haefner, who preceded her in death in 1962.
Surviving are one son, William F. Haefner of Waverly; one daughter, Mrs Eldred (Marion) Hansen of Vinton; one sister, Mrs. Mattie Lauber of Cedar Rapids; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral survices will be held at 2pm Saturday at the Baptist Church, with the Rev. C.W. Staley officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

TIMESNEWS - Funeral services are pending at the Campbell Funeral Home for Oscar E. Haefner, 66, who died unexpecedly Sunday evening at Hotel Vinton after suffering an apparent heart attack..He was born Jan 25, 1905 at Mendota, Ill., a son of Adam and Anna Hose Haefner.
Surviving are one son Darwin, of Colorado Springs, Colo., and two brothers, George and Adam, of Vinton.

Stanley D. Haefner
Vinton - Stanley D. Haefner, 46, 515 E. 8th Street, died Sunday, December 12 at Virninia Gay Hospital in Vinton.
Services will be held Wednesday, 1:30p.m. at the First Christian Church with Rev. Daniel J. Davis and Rev. Bruce Stokka of Evangelical Free Church in Cedar Rapids officiating. Burial will be at the Evergreen Cemetery, Vinton.
Stanley Haefner was born Nov. 16, 1936 in Vinton to George Sr. and Bessie Trimble Haefner. On March 31, 1956 he married Patricia Arbuckle in LaPorte City.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Pat; his parents, George Sr. and Bessie Heafner; one son, Timm, Garrison; three daughters, Mrs Thomas (Terry) Gieger, Vinton; Mrs Joseph (Tracie) Fisher, Vinton; and Duska Haefner at home; one sister, Mrs Jim (JoAnn) Roster, Vinton; four borthers, Harvey, Richard, George Jr. and Donald, all of Vinton; and three grandchildren.
Relatives preceding Mr. Haefner in death were twin children in infancy.
Mr. Haefner had worked for more than 30 years with the D.C. Taylor Company.
Friends may call after noon, Tuesday, at the Campbell-Russel Funeral Home. A memorial has been established.
