William A, Garwood Dies Here; Funeral Will be Wednesday

William A, Garwood
William Andrew Garwood, 82, died at the home of his son, Charles, at 5:40 p. m. Monday. He had been in ill health for about three months. Funeral services will be held at the Hite chapel at 2:00 p. m. Wednesday with burial in Kisling cemetery near Urbana. Friends may call at the Hite chapel this evening between seven and nine o'clock.
The deceased was born March 26, 1856, at Adel, Ia., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jonathan Garwood. He married Emeline Titus at Vinton on Aug. 5, 1887. She died Dec. 5, 1934. Mr. Garwood, who was a retired farmer, lived in the Vinton community 23 years. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Rev. S. R. Wall of that church will have charge of the funeral services. Surviving are the following children: Charles, Vinton; Mrs. Mae Johnson, Waterloo; Kirk, Grinnell, and Mrs. Orpha Chapin, Waverly. There are 14 grandchildren, a brother Sherman, Brighton, Mich., and a sister, Mrs. Kate Cross, Wisconsin.
