"Iowa Deaths"
Richard Thomas Fossett
"Vinton - Richard Thomas Fossett, 73, Tuesday in the Virginia Gay Hospital of heart trouble; born Oct. 12, 1872 in Carroll County, Maryland, to John R. and Hannah Fossett; came to Benton county at the age of 17; on Mar. 5, 1900, he married Addie Elizabeth Baldwin at Shellsburg, where he farmed prior to moving to Vinton in 1938; Mrs. Fossett preceded him in death in December 1932; leaves four children, Guy Fossett, Mrs. Alberta Brundidge, and Mrs. Betty Tharp, all of Vinton, and Mrs. Onnolee Abernathy, of Cedar Rapids; 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; one brother and three sisters also preceded him in death; was a member of the Baptist church and IOOF lodge; funeral services were here Friday; burial in Oakwood Cemetery at Shellsburg."
{Submitter comment: Addie Elizabeth Baldwin was the daughter of Chancy and Adah Baldwin who lived in Shellsburg. They are all buried in Oakwood Cemetery at Shellsburg, Benton County, IA. Addie's brothers were Nathaniel and Elmer Baldwin.}
