Last Rites Held Wednesday for Henry Etscheidt, Sr.
Henry Etscheidt, Sr.
Funeral services for Henry Etscheidt, Sr., 78, were held Wednesday morning at 9:30 at St. Michael's church with Rev. Wm. Kunkel in charge. Burial was in St. Michael's cemetery. Deceased was born April 10, 1863 at Stalen, Germany. He came to the United States when he was 18 years of age and shortly afterwards came to Benton County. He was married to Caroline Schuchmann in 1888. Fourchildren, Mrs. John Thiel, Calamas; and Henry, Charles and John, all of Watkins, survive him. Mrs. Etscheidt died on January 1, 1917. Twelve grandchildren remain also to mourn his passing. He was married again in 1922 to Mrs. Mary Imochle of Nebraska. Mr. Etscheidt has lived in Norway for the past 18 years when he moved from his farm north of Watkins.

Pick and son, Mr. and Mrs. Anton Pick, Louis, John and Joe Pick, Frank Arens and Mrs. Bernard Wiesler, all of Harrington, Nebraska.

Mrs. Henry Etscheidt, 44, died in Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids last Thursday evening after a lingering illness..Funeral services were held Monday morning at 9:30 in the Watkins St. Patrick's church..Mrs. Etscheidt is survived by her husband and three children, Mrs. Clarence Thoman of Fairfax, and Lester and Luverne at home; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Becker of Watkins, and two sisters, Mrs. Emmett Busher of Watkins and Mrs. Ermund Butz of Walker. A sister, Mrs. Clayton Schmidt, died two weeks ago. Another sister, Mrs. George Frese, preceeded her in death.
