December 26, 1893 DIED-At 12 o'clock, noon, Tuesday, December 19, 1893, Mrs. W.O. Ellsworth departed this life at the age of 74 years. Deceased was for several months previous to death confined to her bed, waiting with Christian fortitude for the expected change. The funeral will be held at the First Eden church today at 11 o'clock. A short obituary next week.

She was born in Jefferson county, N.Y., April 24, 1818 and was married to Mr. Ellsworth Feb. 7, 1843. They to Stevenson county, Ill., in 1845 and in 1854 removed to Benton County, Iowa. They settled in Eden where they lived until 1887 when they took up their residence in Vinton. Mr. Ellsworth was a consistent member of the Methodist church in Eden under the pastorate of Rev. S.A. Lee. She exhibited her life and home the qualities of a true christian and died in the triump of faith. Of eight children only three survive her, two daughters and one son. The funeral services were conducted by Dr. Clinton in First Eden church, the Rev. Doctor selecting as the basis of his discorse that beautiful and sublime portion of scripture found in Jer. 12-5
