OBITUARY -- DAVID C. DEVER
David Dever
David Dever was born in Monroe County, Indiana, in 1839, and died at his home in Center Point, Iowa, Feb. 10, 1916.
He moved to Iowa with his parents when 13 years of age and resided in Linn and Benton county up to the time of his death. He was married to Nancy Fee in 1862 and to this union were born four children, three daughters and one son, Mrs. Seth Way, Mrs. Ben Newman, Mrs. C.O. Balcom of Independence and David Mack Devers of Stanford, Neb.
Besides the above mentioned children he is survived by one brother, Jess Devers of Center Point, one sister, Mrs. Martha Fee of Center Point, five grandchildren, one great grand child and a host of friends and old neighbors who will ever remember the deceased.
He was a devoted father and at all times advised and directed his children to an honorable and meritorious life and which will always cling in fond rememberance to the children who were ever faithful to his happiness and wants.
The funeral services were held at the Christian church on Saturday, the 12th at 2:30 o'clock, Kider K.J. Sarchett, officiating, assisted by Rev. Gabel. The remains were laid to rest in the Center Point cemetery.

Urbana Woman, 82, Died This Morning At Daughter's Home Benton County News (Special for Daily Times)
Sarah M. (Way) Dever
Urbana, May 15. Mrs. Sarah M. Dever, 82, died at the Hugh Brody home at 2:30 this morning after an illness of several months.
She was born at Center Point Dec. 17, 1859 and married Jesse Dever there Dec. 8, 1881. They moved there from Center Point about 30 years ago. Mr. Dever died about 10 years ago. Their two children, Mrs. Jessie Eva Brody of Urbana and David Benjamin of Minnesota, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren survive. She was a member of the Spencer's Grove Catholic church.
Mrs. Dever carried mail in Urbana for years, taking it in a coaster wagon from the train to the postoffice. She has been cared for at the home of her daughter for the last two years.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the home with the Rev. Hubert Holsters in charge and burial will be in Urbana.
