Death of Mrs. J. H. Detrick After an Illness of but a Few Days-She passed Away Last Friday.

Mrs. John H. Detrick died at her home in Eden Township in Eden Township last Friday, after a brief illness of only a few days. The funeral was held Sabbath afternoon at her late home. The services being conducted by Rev. S. S Hilscher of the Presbyterian church.
The body was laid at rest in 2nd Eden cemetery. The deceased was born in Elimsport, Lycoming county, Pennsylvania January 10, 1841. She was married January 20, 1862 to John H. Detrick. After a residence of six years in Pennsylvania they went to Clinton County, Iowa and seven years later, in 1875 to Benton County where she has snce resided. She was the mother of seven children, six of whom, with the husband, survive her and were present at her bed side during her illness and when the last hour came. The deceased was a quiet, unassuming person, doing well her daily toil for her family. She was a faithfull wife and loving mother, and the most precious memories of her self-sacrificing love will ever abid with those who are left behind. Her religion was undemonstrative. She was reared in the faithful christian cultrue of the Old Scotch Presbyterian way, and the Holy Book was precious to her. Life's work is ended, through faith in a crucified and loving Savior eternity has begun.
