Elsie M. Brockschink

NORWAY - Elsie M. Brockschink, 96, died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2009, at the Keystone Care Center, Keystone, following a long illness. Services were Monday, Feb. 2, 2009, at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Norway, with Father Jack McClure C.PP.S. officiating. There was a private family burial at Lenox Cemetery, Norway.

Survivors include her son, William (Bonnie) Brockschink of Norway, grandchildren, Julie (Calvin) Tadema, Paula (Frank) Boyer, Mary Brockschink, Bill Jr. (Jill) Brockschink, and Jane (Brett) Sagers; great-grandchildren Travis (Theresa) Tadema, Tyler (Ruth) Tadema, Chelsey Tadema, Kate Brockschink and Ashley Brockschink; great-great-grandchildren Tyler Reuben and Malachi Daniel Tedema: daughter-in-law Beverly (John) McGowan, sisters Ida Clatterbaugh and Jessie Lefebvre, sisters-in-law Dixie Schultz and Opal Becker, and many nieces and nephews.

Elsie was preceded in death by her husband Victor, son Victor Jr., her parents, and brothers John and August Schulte.

Elsie was born November 24, 1912 in Norway to August and Mathilda Brecht Schulte. On Feb. 6, 1934, she married Victor Brockschink at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Norway. He died June 23, 1939.

Elsie was employed at Amana Refrigeration, as a cook at the Norway Community School and for several years for Drs. Reinhart and Stamy, DVM.

She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Norway...

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.

Arrangements are with Brosh Funeral Service, Norway.

Noble Brockschink Services Held Saturday
Noble G. Brockschink

NORWAY: Noble G. Brockschink, 73, a Norway farmer, died suddenly at his farm south of Norway Wednesday morning, Aug. 12, 1981.

He was the son of Henry and Martha Uthoff Brockschink, born April 28, 1908, south of Norway. He married Alice Rose April 28, 1931 in Norway.

Mr. Brockschink served on the country school board and on the Norway Community school board for many years. He was elected a director of Lenox Mutual Insurance Assn. in Feb. 1958 and treasurer in Feb. 1968, an office he held at the time of his death, and was still active on the board. He was a member of the St. Clair Masonic Lodge No. 164, a member of the United Methodist Church in Norway and Lenox Township Clerk and election judge many years.

Surviving him are his wife; four daughters, Mrs. Robert (Joanne) Miller, Norway; Mrs. Bertrand (Janet) Hinrichs, Riceville; Mrs. Henry (Nola) Moser, Amana; Mrs. Eugene (Nancy) Vincent, West Liberty; 11 grandchildren; one great grandchild; one brother, Harold, of Norway; two sisters, Mrs. Opal Becker and Mrs. Bernard (Sylvia) Schulte of Norway.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Victor.

Funeral services were held at United Methodist Church in Norway, Saturday, Aug. 15, at 1:30 p.m., with the Rev. Don Hodson, Blairstown, officiating. Mrs. Louis Blackburn was organist, and Wayne Riley and Kenneth Bierman ushered. Pallbearers were Raymond Ballard, Loyel Schutterle, Clarence Thoman, Ray Schulte, Robert La Grange and Edwin Kimm.

Burial was in Lenox Cemetery, south of Norway, with the Masons in charge of the service.

George Brosh was in charge of arrangements and David Hrabak, Belle Plaine, conducted the services.

OBITUARY
Victor Brockschink

Funeral services for Victor Brockschink, 36, who was killed in an automobile accident near Shellsburg early Friday morning, were held at 9 a.m. Sunday with Rev. Wm. Kunkel officiating. Burial was in the New Jerusalem cemetery four miles south of here.

Victor Brockschink, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Brockschink, was born at Humboldt, Iowa, Feb. 1, 1902. He came to Benton county at the age of 2 years and has since resided here. He was married to Elsie Schulte Feb. 6, 1934. He is survived by his wife, two sons, Victor, Jr., and William, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Brockschink; two brothers, Noble and Harold; and two sisters, Mrs. Leo Becker and Sylvia all of Norway.
