Benton County, Iowa Obituaries
The Vinton Eagle; Feb. 16, 1894

Mary Boyle

Many hearts were touched on Tuesday by the tidings of the death of Mrs. Mary Hale Boyle. Born in Benton county here life was spent in this vicinity until her marriage in 1885. A few weeks ago she came back to the old home to rest, and as it proved, to die. She was not quite thirty years of age. In girlhood "Mamie" gave her heart to God and became a member of the Presbyterian church of Vinton. Christian faith meant much to her and sustained her through many trials and through the sufferings of her final illness. The funeral service was held on Wednesday afternoon. A large company of friends gathered to show their respect for the departed and to sympathize with the father, brother, husband and little daughter who are stricken by this heavy bereavement.
