Obituary
Joanna B. Auld
Joanna B. Marine was born in Wayne county, Indiana, June 17, 1834, and moved to Iowa, this county, in 1856, when she was married to George W. Auld. To this union there were born Harry M., Amtha I. [Arthur J.] and Lida, who are left to mourn her departure.
In early life she gave her heart to God and her name to the church and remained a faithful member till her death, interested in the spread of the gospel in heathen lands, being a member of W. F. M. society of the Methodist church. For several years she has been a great sufferer, and yet her faith in God never faltered. She departed this life Sabbath morning, June 13th, at the ripe age of 75 years.
The funeral was held Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock at the Methodist church in Garrison, attended by a large number of sympathetic friends. The Woman's Foreign Missionary Society, of which she was member, attended in a body. Rev. Maxwell preached the sermon, assisted by Rev. Logan of the Presbyterian church. The remains were brought to Vinton and laid to rest in Evergreen cemetery.
