Charotte Louise Alden
SHELLSBURG-Charotte Louise Alden, 72, died Friday, June 6, 1997, at St. Lukes Hospital Cedar Rapids, following and extended illness.
She was born November 26, 1924, at Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Ernest and Opal Mead Groth.
She married Stanley Alden on July 12, 1959 at Shellsburg, He preceded her in death on July 4, 1981.
Mrs. Alden was a registered nurse and worked at Virginia Gay Hospital, St. Luke’s Hospital and for several local doctors. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran church, Shellsburg.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, Marcus Masek, and a sister, Jeanne Coberly. Suvivors include two sons, Lee Reese and his wife Sue, Omaha, NE, and Bill Reese and his wife, Gayle, Newhall; two daughters, Marianne Biondi and her husband, Rod, Des Moines, and Susan Masek and her husband, David, Lincoln, Ne; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, two brothers, Richard Groth and his wife, Martha, Shellsburg and David Groth and his wife, Shelby, Galveston, Tx.
