JOHN B. REEVE, banker at Garrison, came to Benton County in 1861, from Stark County, Ohio, where he was born Feb. 9, 1834. Samuel C. and Anna Reeve, his parents, were natives of New Jersey and Virginia respectively. Mr. Reeve remained upon the old farm homestead until twenty years of age, when he embarked in active life for himself as a book canvasser, then engaged as a school teacher, and in the year above mentioned came to Benton County, where he bought forty acres of land in Jackson Township. This he worked for four years, increasing his property, and in 1879 moved to Garrison, becoming one of its business men. In 1883 he sold his mill and has since given his attention to his banking business.
Our subject was married, Feb. 27, 1861, to Sarah Allen, daughter of Abraham Allen, of Ohio. Mr. Reeve has taken a prominent part in the political affairs of his county, and is recognized as one of its leading citizens.
