Found in Polk Co. Iowa History:

William Henry Stiles was born January 18, 1843 in Tuscarawas Co. OH., the son of William Melvine & Hannah Maria (Stuffer) Stiles. His father was a native of Vermont, coming to Iowa in 1853, locating in Benton Co. IA. where he preached until 1857 in the United Brethren Church. His mother was from Pennsylvania.
