Born, February 9, 1828, in Montgomery County, New York. 1854-55, professor of mathematics in Asbury Female College, New Albany; 1855-56, principal Bloomfield (Indiana) Academy; 1857-60, minister in the Missouri Conference; 188O--. county surveyor of Benton County, Iowa. Married, May 12, 1857, Miss Evaline Humphrey, who died October 24, 1892; married Miss Eliza Pollock, October 25, 1893, who died Feb. 5, 1915.
