Fleenor (Gillis) CemeteryChariton Township, Section 24 This cemetery is in the west campground at Rathbun Lake
marina. When Rathbun Lake was constructed in the late 1960's the Army Corp of Engineers preserved the small family cemeteries in the Rathbun Lake flood plain with chain link fence enclosures. This
small cemetery is well tended. The cemetery was started in conjunction with the Pleasant Plains M.E. church that was at the site until about 1882. Originally their were 10 to 12 graves but only one stone
remains today. The remaining stone was erected in June 1902 by Eliza (Fleenor) Gillis and her husband Albert for Eliza's parents.
