ION CEMETERY
Section 24, Fairview Township, Allamakee county Iowa

To reach the cemetery, take Hwy 76 south-east from Waukon, to Ion Rd. Turn south, traveling about 2 miles. The Ion cemetery sits on the side of a hill overlooking the Yellow River valley and the bluffs surrounding it. It is difficult to see from the road as you travel south, because may be no identifying sign. The entry drive into the cemetery is about mid-way through a downhill curve, on the right-hand side of the road. At the bottom of the hill is Old Mission Dr. on the left and a short distance farther, a bridge over the Yellow river. Old Mission Rd can be seen in the background on the right side of this photo of Ion cemetery.
