Pups of WAVE mascot are owned by Miss Marguerite Wilson, former WAVE, who adopted the mother when she was on duty in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

When 'She Comes' Marching Home

Because she loved dogs, Miss Marguerite Wilson, 1329 E Ninth st. found her career with the WAVES threaded with dog devotion. When Miss Wilson arrived a year and a half ago at Fort Lauderdale, Fla., she was attracted to the two-week-old puppy which other WAVES had adopted as a mascot. Because she assumed the chores of hand feeding the puppy, it followed her constantly.

When Miss Wilson returned to Des Moines Oct 15, she brought "her" dog. After its release from the WAVES, the mascot presented its owner with five puppies, orphaned when the mother died last week.
