Traer -- Three Traer girls have enlisted in the Waves, Miss Theresa Snyder, daughter of Rev. and Mrs. J. J. Snyder, was sent from Des Moines Tuesday to Hunter college, New York City, where she will receive her basic training.

Miss Marjeane E. Whitehead, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Whitehead, who had been employed in Waterloo in recent weeks, and Miss Florence L. Wehrhan, daughter of Mrs. Louis Dengler, will probably be called for training Feb 22. Both of these girls have two brothers in service, Tech. Sgt. Kenneth Wehrhan, brother of the latter, being a prisoner of war in a German camp.

Marjeane Ethel Whitehead Sheridan was born Jan. 28, 1924 to D. E. and Elizabeth Ruth Englebert Whitehead. She died Aug. 25, 1975 and is buried in Longview Memorial Park, Longview, WA.

Petty Officer Whitehead served in World War II with the U.S. Navy WAVES. She was married to Hugh D. Sheridan.
