West Liberty -- Miss Alberta Stafford, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Stafford, has been commissioned as ensign in the U.S. navy nurse corps and ordered to report at a naval base.
Ensign Stafford was graduated from West Liberty high school in the class of 1933. Since her gradation from the Mercy hospital school of nursing at Iowa City she has been employed at Mercy and University hospitals at Iowa City.

Alberta Florence Stafford was born Aug. 29, 1915 to Albert Lee and Lena Louisa Herring Stafford. She died Nov. 1980 and is buried in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Omaha, NE.
Alberta served with the U.S. Navy in World War II. She served again from 1953-1970.
