Edna Smith

 

 

Plainfield -- Edna Smith, employee of the Butler-Bremer Telephone Co. the last three years, has enlisted in the Wac as a medical technician and will report Feb. 28 at Ft. Des Moines, where she will receive her basic training. Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arlie Smith, she has three brothers in the service, Pfc. Wayne, with the First army in Germany; Mark with the marines somewhere in the Pacific and Glenn, technician fifth grade, now stationed at Jackson, Miss., having spent 34 months in the Asiatic Pacific area.

Plainfield -- Wac Edna Smith, who enlisted in February as a medical technician, has completed her technical training a William Beaumont general hospital in El Paso, Tex., and will leave there July 5 for Hot Springs, Ark., where she will receive four weeks of 'job training' after which she will be assigned to duty. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arlie Smith and has three brothers in service.
