Katherine (Kay) Claire Risberg "Daughter of God" in loving memory of our mother, sister and friend who passed away peacefully on November 20, 2013, at age 90. She was a woman of grace and character; she will be missed by all who knew her for her wit and kindness.

Kay was born in Schleswig, Iowa on September 23, 1923. Upon graduation from high school, she attended St. Joseph's Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Sioux City, Iowa. She then served in the Army Nurse Corps. Following military service; she met and married her life-long love Robert Edward Risberg, a fond memory. They settled in Cranford, New Jersey where they raised two children, Thomas Robert and Janet Claire.

Kay resumed her career as a nurse in the Cranford Public Schools where she was loved by many and retired in 1984. Kay and Bob moved to New Smyrna Beach in 1984 where they resided until 2002 when they moved to John Knox Village in Orange City, FL.

Kay is survived by son Thomas, daughter Janet, daughter-in-law Nancy, and brother Philip Schlimgen. She had two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ann's Catholic Church at 26 Dogwood Trail, DeBary, FL on November 25 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow with full military honors at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
