Lt. Eloise Rutledge

 

 

SERVES IN FRANCE -- Lt. Eloise Rutledge has arrived in France where she will serve with the U.S. Army Nurse corps, according to word received by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Vern Rutledge, 16 14th S.E. The Rutledges had not heard from their daughter for about 6 weeks until they received a cable, followed the next day by a letter, telling of her safe arrival. Lt. Rutledge enlisted in January, 1944, and went first to Camp Carson, Colo., later being stationed at Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo., and O'Reilly General hospital in Springfield, Mo. She is a graduate of the Mercy hospital school of nursing.

MASON CITY NURSE IN FRANCE -- Lt. Eloise Rutledge, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Vern Rutledge, 16 14th S.E., who is a member of the army nurse corps, makes things a little easier for a wounded infantry soldier of Ridgefield, Wash., by administering a back rub. Lt. Rutledge is a surgical nurse at the 167th general hospital in France. She entered the nurse corps a year ago in January and was first stationed at Camp Carson, Colo., later going to Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo., and O'Reilly General hospital in Springfield, Mo. She is a graduate of Mason City Mercy hospital scholar of nursing. (Army Signal Corps Photo)
