Lt. Alma Rixe

 

 

IN ENGLAND

Mr. and Mrs. L.D. Rixe, Lowden, have received news their daughter, Lieut. Alma Rixe, has arrive in England with an army nurse corps unit. A graduate of Lutheran Memorial hospital, Chicago, she enlisted in the nurses corps and served at the Savannah, Ill. ordnance plant and Percy Jones hospital, Battle Creek, Mich., until transfer last spring to Schick hospital, Clinton, where she served until being transferred to overseas duty.

LIEUT. ALMA RIXE, LOWDEN, ENDS ARMY NURSE CORPS DUTY

Lowden, Ia. -- Lieut. Alma Rixe, army nurse corps, has returned home following her discharge at Ft. Sheridan, Ill. She served three years and was in England and France since April 1944, returning last April. She will stay at present with her mother, Mrs. L.D. RIxe, who is in ill health.

Her brother-in-law, Sergt. George Lorch, discharged Sept. 26 at Ft. Snelling, Minn., and his wife, the former Florence Rixe, are visiting relatives in Chicago and will be here later. Lorch, four years in service, served 28 months in the Aleutians.
