Notes About N. E. Iowans in the Service

TRAER—Lt. Helen Neidick, army nurse, is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Will Neidick, here after being discharged from service recently at Atlanta, Ga. She served 16 months in an army hospital in England and has been stationed at Camp Seibert, Ala., since being returned from overseas two months ago. She plans to take more schooling and will eventually return to the nursing profession. Before entering service, she served as a nurse at Allen Memorial hospital, Waterloo, for a short time.

Helen Louise Neidick was born May 6, 1917 to William Louis and Nellie Jane Robinson Neidick. She died Nov. 24, 1994 and is buried in Buckingham Cemetery, Traer, IA.

1st Lt. Soucek served with the U.S. Army Nurse Corps in World War II. She was married to Lester Soucek. Lester served with the U.S. Navy in World War II.

Lester Soucek was born Sept. 11, 1914 to Josef and Josephine Chalupnik Soucek. He died Oct. 26, 1979 and is buried in Palm Mortuary Memorial Park, Henderson, NV.
