Miss Virginia Memler has returned from Los Angeles, Cal, to visit her parents, Mr. and Mrs. L.B. Memler, 19057 Fortieth st., while awaiting call to the WAVES.

Des Moines in the Service

Des Moines women have completed training at the naval training school for WAVES, the Bronx, N.Y., and have received the following assignments:

Ellen L. Larsen, hospital apprentice, second class, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G.E. Tomlinson, 3414 S.W. Ninth st, to the U.S. Naval hospital, San Diego, Cal for further instruction.

Virginia Carolyn Memler, seaman, second class, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. I.B. Memler, 1057 Fortieth st., to Washington, D.C. for duty.

Mary Louise Moore, seaman, second class, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Moore, 815 Thirty-third st, to the naval training school for yeoman, Oklahoma A and M college, Stillwater, Okla for further instruction.

Virginia Memler, communications specialist, third class, in the WAVES is on a 16-day leave, visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. L.B. Memler, 1009 Fortieth st. She is stationed at Washington, D.C.

To Marry This Week

Mr. and Mrs. L. B. Memler, 1009 Forty-third st, announce the approaching marriage of their daughter, Virginia Carolyn, to Henry Stanley Finck, son of Mr. and Mrs. H.L. Finck of Glen Ullin, N.D.

The wedding will take place Saturday in the chancel of Plymouth Congregational church.

Miss Memler who was a graduate from Roosevelt High school and attended Iowa State college in Ames, served two years in the WAVES.
