Marine Alice Fleming, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Fleming, 1003 1/2 Franklin Street, has been promoted from private first class to corporal at Camp Pendleton, Cal., where she is is stationed as training command clerk.

Two Corporals of Marine Corps Married Apr. 28

A member of the marine corps women's reserve and a marine corporal were married Apr. 28 in a Methodist church at San Diego, Cal., it was announced Friday by Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Fleming, 1003 1/2 Franklin street, parents of the bride.

Wed in a double ring ceremony performed by Rev. George A. Warner, were Cpl. Alice L. Fleming and Cpl. William R. Snyder, son of Mr. and Mrs. W.E. Snyder of Lapel, Ind.

After a brief honeymoon the bride reported at San Francisco, Cal., where she was recently transferred. She enlisted in the marine corps in September, 1943, and has been a training command clerk at Camp Pendleton, Cal.

Corporal Snyder enlisted in the marine corps in February, 1942 and served 18 months in the South Pacific where he was awarded a citation for meritorious performance of duty of action on Bougainville. He is now stationed in San Diego.
