Pfc. Joyce B. Fannan

 

 

 

Auxiliary First Class Joyce B. Fannan has completed basic training with the WAAC at Daytona Beach, Fla., and has been transferred to Camp Butner, N.C. according to word received by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William H. Fannan, 205 Linwood avenue. Auxiliary Fannan is in the cadre. Before enlisting in March, she was employed at Rath's.

Bride, Groom, Army Privates, Visitors Here

Visiting in Waterloo until Friday of this week are Pfc. and Mrs. Louis H. Atkins, the latter formerly Pfc. Joyce B. Fannan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Fannan, 205 Linwood avenue before her marriage July 19 in Rockford, Ill.

The bride was employed by the Rath Packing Co. prior to her enlistment in the Wac April 6, 1943. She has been stationed at Camp Butner, NC.

The groom, son of Mr. and Mrs. James P. Atkins of Rockford, was employed by Andersen Brothers Manufacturing Co. before entering the service Aug 7. 1941. For a year he was stationed with the infantry in the south Pacific and later in Africa, Sicily and Italy, returning from Rome recently. He will report for reassignment at Ft. Sam Houston, Tex.
