Elizabeth Bahne, Enters WAVES

Eldora, Ia. -- Elizabeth Bahne, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.R. Bahne of Eldora, was sworn into the WAVES for officer's training in Chicago, Ill, this week.

Miss Bahne is a graduate of Oberlin college, Oberlin, Ohio, and has been employed by the Iowa tax commission and Plan for Hospital Care, Chicago, as an accountant.

She will report for three months of training the middle of April.

ELDORA GIRL IN WAVES

Eldora, Ia. -- Miss Elizabeth Bahne, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.R. Bahne, has resigned her position in Chicago in order to join the WAVES. She will remain at home until her call comes to take up training at Smith college in Northampton, Mass.

Mr. and Mrs. J.R. Bahne, of Eldora, Ia., announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter Elizabeth, to Richard Clayton Bennett, son of Mr. and Mrs. C.A. Bennett of Nevada City, Cal. The wedding will take place in September.

ENSIGN BAHNE WEDS

Ensign Elizabeth Bahne, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Bahne of Eldora, Ia., was married Saturday to Lieut. Richard C. Bennett at St. Mary's Catholic church in Eldora. The Rev. J.P. Connell officiated.

The bride was graduated from Oberlin college and is at present disbursement officer head of the Boston Naval school. She formerly was employed by the tax commission in Des Moines.

Lieutenant Bennett, who is in the naval reserve, is instructor on the Harvard Naval school. He was formerly on board the Nevada. He is a graduate of Southern California and was completing his law degree at Stanford university prior to entering the navy.
