These Girls Start War Service Activities At An Early Age
Reading from left to right -- Katherine Fraser, Alice Mathes, Helen Price, Cathleen Curtis and Jacqueline Zentner.
In a most practical manner these five young ladies are demonstrating a spirit of service to the boys in Uncle Sam's armed forces. They are making a quilt. Every Tuesday and Friday after school they gather at the various homes and as one of the girls put it "We'll soon have one finished."
The quilt will be turned over to the local unit of the United Service Women of America and will be sent to some camp or hospital unit. The girls are getting a big kick out of their efforts to be of service to the fighting men of their country.
They are working under the supervision of their mothers. Kathleen Fraser, 9, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C.A.
