Danced in England, Didn't Get to See Their Husbands
Two Des Moines girls were recently returned from a two-month tour of England as United States Organizations (U.S.O.) dancers had only one disappointment during the trip.
Both their husbands were stationed in England at the time, they think, but they didn't get to see them or talk to them.
The dancers, Maxine Van Lissel Wolfe, 26, and Patricia Griffin, 21, appeared Tuesday night before the Navy Mothers club at the Y.M.C.A.
[Excerpt]
The dancers flew to England and back and will leave again this week for New York where they will leave for overseas again.
Maxine is the daughter of Mrs. Eva Van Lissel, West Des Moines. Patricia's parents and Mr. and Mrs. Bert Ashman, 151 Sixth ave.
