Merrill, IowaCorporal Milo and Private Elwyn Woodley, at home together on furlough, were honored with a lawn picnic for 25 relatives at the home of the soldier’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. David Woodley. Two soldier sons who could not be present are Private First Class Merlin in the Aleutian Islands and Private First Class Chester who is recovering from fever and injuries somewhere in the South Pacific, Corporal Milo returned Wednesday to Long Beach, California and Private Elwyn will return Friday to Camp Butner, North Carolina.

Milo Howard Woodley was born Oct. 5, 1917 to David Arthur and Fannie Louise Simmons Woodley. He died Nov. 5, 1996 and is buried in Logan Park Cemetery, Sioux City, IA.
