John S. Willey was born Dec. 24, 1920 to Horace Boyer and Hazel Dale Scott Willey. He died Aug. 31, 1944 and has a cenotaph in Wilson Cemetery, Independence, IA.
Lt. Willey served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps and was MIA/KIA/FOD as a pilot of a fighter plane in a combat escort mission to Aversa, Italy.
