Lt. Ralph Roland Ross

George D. Addison, son of Mr. and Mrs. D.J Addison, 1616 Douglas Street and Ralph Roland Ross, son of Mrs. Emlie Ross, of Doon, Iowa, received their wings and were commissioned second lieutenants when they were graduated recently from the army air force advanced flying school at Marfa, Texas. Lieut. Addison is a graduate of Central High School and a former Morningside College student. Lieut. Ross is also a former student of that college, a graduate of Doon Public School and a former student at Sheldon Junior College.

Ralph Roland Ross was born Sept. 15, 1919 to Jacob and Emilia Dobrinski Ross. He died Mar. 4, 1987 and is buried in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA. 1st Lt. Ross served with the U.S. Army Air Corps as a B-17 Pilot, 524th Bomb Squadron, 379th Bomb Group, Eighth Air Force. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters.
