Gene Lundell Peterson was born June 12, 1924 to Walter Johannes and Mabel Elvira Nelson Peterson. He died Feb. 11, 1945 and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines and in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Aurelia, IA.
Pvt. Peterson served in World War II with the U.S. Army Infantry and was MIA/KIA in Leyte and was awarded the Purple Heart.
