Lorenz Petersen was born June 17, 1919 to Peter and Anna Petersen. He died June 15, 1945 and was buried in the Seventh Division Cemetery on Okinawa Island. He was later buried in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Hawaii.
Pvt. Petersen served in World War II with the U.S. Army 17th Infantry, 7th Division and died of wounds received in action on Okinawa. He was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
