Pvt. Bernard Nolte

 

 

 

RECAPTURED -- Mr. and Mrs. Henry Nolte of Goodell received a letter from their son, Pvt. Bernard Nolte, in a hospital in Germany stating he had been a prisoner of the Germans but was recaptured by the Allies. It was the first word his parents had since the government notified them he was missing in Luxembourg. He stated he was run weak and run down but would be seeing his home folks soon.

Bernard Edwin Nolte was born Dec. 16, 1923 to Henry D. and Veda Christie Nolte. He died May 15, 1998 and is buried in Amsterdam Cemetery, Goodell, IA.

Pvt. Nolte served in World War II with the U.S. Army.
