Guido Marchi was born Mar. 1, 1923 to John and Bina Mae Thompson Marchi. He died June 14, 1945 and is buried in Oakland Cemetery, Centerville, IA. He was first interred in the USAFA Cemetery #1, Santa Barbara, Luzon, Philippine Islands for about 3 years when he was repatriated to Centerville.

Sgt. Marchi served in World War II with the U.S. Army 35th Infantry Regiment. He was KIA on Luzon and awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge, Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal and the WWII Victory Medal.
