Sgt. Merle Marvin Lynch

 

 

Merle Marvin Lynch was born Sept. 9, 1915 to Willard and Blanche Gibson Lynch. He died Feb. 12, 1944 and is memorialized at the Tablets of the Missing, Sicily-Rome American Cemetery, Nettuno, Italy and has a cenotaph in Forest Cemetery, Oskaloosa, IA. He was buried at sea.

Sgt. Lynch served in World War II with the U.S. Army 2nd Regiment, 1st Special Service Force and was MIA/KIA and awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
