Win Commissions As Bombardiers

Commissioned as second lieutenants and Silver Bombardier Wings were awarded Hayward K. Schandorff, 1414 Myrtle Street and Herschel M. Lockett, brother of Russell Lockett, Kingsley, Iowa at graduation exercise in Texas Bombardier Schools Thursday. Second Lieut. Schandorff was graduated from the school at Big Spring and Second Lieut. Lockett was honored at the Midland School The two officers will be assigned for further training before being placed in actual combat.

Herschel Myron Lockett was born Dec. 16, 1915 to Edward Ernest and Isa Frances Clary Lockett. He died Mar. 9, 1985 and is buried in Sidney Cemetery, Sidney, IA.
